Trusting Spirit Horse Rescue

These are images of Trusting Spirits' most recent horses.
These are images of Trusting Spirits' horses over the years. Some still with us, some have new homes, and others have crossed the rainbow bridge and are running freely in heaven's green pastures.
Bill the Beautiful Belgian
BILL WAS THE TRUSTING SPIRIT MASCOT FROM DAY 1. Claudia purchased this beautiful Belgian from a farm in Manson where he was at risk. He was distrustful, had been treated poorly and his nutrition neglected. He was seriously injured after being dragged by other horses while attached to a cart. He was rehabilitated at Trusting Spirit where he began to thrive and love people and life again. He was in his prime showing off at fundraisers, parties and other events as his confidence grew. He succumbed to a genetic condition commonly found in Belgians and left us in June 2013. We dearly miss our gentle Belgian.

Bluebell
Bluebell is a smart, wonderful, classy mare. She is about 15 yrs old and about 15hh. She is an athletic Breeding Stock Paint and is curious and friendly. She is broken, rides well and has great ground manners. Loads and travels well, too.
Bluebell
Getting a pre-riding workout in the round pen. She must have been something special at some point in her life because she carries herself like a show horse.
Classic
Classic is approximately 20 yrs old and was part of a group seized out of Moses Lake, Wash., by the Humane Society in 2004. He is a permanent resident, living out his last days at Trusting Spirit due to cancer. Even still, he has an amazingly positive spirit and a sweet and engaging personality.

Shadow
Shadow joined the ranch in December 2013 after being rescued from a location in Spokane, Wash. He is about 3 yrs old, has great ground manners and was recently gelded. He is the most gentle, docile horse you could ever meet, even when he was a stallion. His adoption is pending.

Make a Difference Day
These ladies spent over 8 hours volunteering on Make a Difference day. They helped string electric fencing on 4 different pens. We really appreciate our volunteers. Couldn't operate without them.
Ibn
Ibn is about 14.2hh and in his teens. He is a fun, playful beautiful Arabian. He's been to NCW fair twice, has been saddled but not ridden. He is smart and willing to please, stands for the farrier, loads well and likes people. He is available for adoption.
Ibn
Seen here saddled and ready to be worked with. He will make a wonderful rider and companion for any person who likes a playful, willing horse.
Sebastian - as a colt
Sebastian was born in 2006 at Trusting Spirit after his mother was rescued from Plain, Wash.
Sebastian
Seen here 8-years later posing for the camera. He is about about 14.2hh, full of energy and is undergoing training this year, 2014. He is available for adoption.

Ibn & Sebastion being moved into a pen together in October 2013. Both of these geldings are available for adoption.
Red Golden Sun
Red Golden Sun was found on a breeding farm when he became part of an 18-horse Humane Society seizure in 2006. Red, as he was later called, developed a severe condition that resulted in sores and lesions in his mouth. He was eventually put down at the end of 2012.
Kara - seen here with a student visitor
Our sweet Kara, an over used broodmare arrived in 2006 with numerous medical conditions, some of them untreatable. She lived her final years at the ranch in a safe calm environment until she finally left us in December 2013.
Roxxi
We said goodbye to this sweet broodmare in December 2013. She was in her late twenties and spent her last years with us in peace after loosing a baby to neglect and starvation before being rescued. The Humane Society and Trusting Spirit stepped in and took her in 2006.
Skye
Skye came to Trusting Spirit from a location that could no longer care for her. She is in her 20's and has been shown at the NCW fair. She is very spirited to ride, but has gentle and graceful ground manners. She trailers well, and is quite sweet. She is available for adoption.
Ruby
Ruby is still a resident after being rescued in 2007 from a desperate situation in Plain, Wash. She is small, timid and has trust issues, but is immensely sweet once she feels safe. She is estimated to have been born in 2005. She has not been saddled or worked with much, but shows potential for being a nice "pony-like" trail horse or possibly a companion horse.
Midnight
Joined the ranch in December 2013 from Spokane, Wash. This photo, taken shortly after arriving at Trusting Spirit, shows his condition; mangy, lice infested, under nourished and underweight, frightened of people and very mistrusting.
Midnight
This beautiful Friesian cross looks very different than his arrival picture. He is now a splendid beautiful and strong horse that stands at almost 16hh. He is undergoing training and pending an adoption this fall.

Monet
Monet is a beautiful Arabian who is kind, vocal and has great ground manners (most of the time). He is a long-time resident who joined Trusting Spirit in 2009 from Ephrata, Wash. He has injured back legs so cannot be ridden. He is just shy of 15hh, likes people and other horses, trailers well and would make a great companion horse.
Monet and Spirit
Monet and Spirit seen here with one of our dedicated volunteers, Sarah. Both horses are long term residents.
Mighty Mouse
Might Mouse is Trusting Spirit's PR Pony horse who just recently retired from an illustrious career of entertaining children and adults. He loves being the center of attention and acting as Trusting Spirit's goodwill ambassador to help advance the message of compassionate equine welfare and the ethical treatment of horses.

Shannon
Arrived in the fall of 2012 with an existing illness that was untreatable. By late summer 2014, her health was declining and she was rapidly and losing weight despite food and additional supplements. We made the decision to end her suffering and said goodbye to her in September 2014.

Ginger
In the sunlight, this mare's beautiful coloring really stands out. Ginger was adopted by a loving, wonderful family and began her training in July 2014. Her story is currently featured on the website in the Success Stories link.

A very pregnant Ginger. This photo was taken just a few days before she foaled on May 3, 2014.
Ginger's colt - Little Derby
This beautiful, chestnut, spindly legged colt was eagerly awaited by so many when he finally arrived on May 3, 2014, during the 140th run of the Kentucky Derby. He was the 5th colt to be born at Trusting Spirit in 8 years.
His life was so brief
Unfortunately, this little colt unexpectedly died 3 days later. Everyone mourned his loss, especially his mother. He was given the name Little Derby and buried in a special place on the ranch.
